I had been thinking about doing preschool again.
When I received my inheritance, I threw away all my preschool stuff since I thought I would never need it again.
The lady I am babysitting for is a school teacher. She helped me put together a new curriculum. She even helped me find parents who wanted to enroll their children in my preschool. I am excited about it!

I was on my way to babysit my grandson, just like I did every Wednesday afternoon.
It was raining hard, so I thought I’d better go slow and leave plenty of room between me and the car in front of me. Then out of nowhere, the car in front of me came to a full stop. Since I was going at a safe pace behind her, I was able to stop in time without driving into her.
I prayed the car behind me was at a safe distance so it could stop in time. As I looked in the rearview mirror, I saw the car behind me coming at full speed.
The car hit my car so hard that it pushed me forward into the car in front of me. I was sandwiched between two cars.
My head and neck hurt, but I wanted to will myself to be fine. Then I saw a car getting ready to drive off. I got out of my car and ran towards him to ask him if he had seen what happened. He said he did. Since he was a witness to the wreck, I asked him not to drive off. I told him he needed to stay so that he could make a statement to the police about what had happened.
All of a sudden, everything went black. When I came to, I was lying on the ground in the rain. When I opened my eyes, a woman told me not to move because the ambulance was on its way.
When I got to the hospital, they cut off all my clothes. They did a CT scan. I had whiplash, and my right shoulder was in a lot of pain.

My dreams of starting a preschool were shattered.
While Richard was with me in the hospital, he told me that he was starting a new job at the University of Utah Hospital. Since we were there anyway, he went and had his picture taken for his new badge.

When Richard came home from church, he told me he had hired a guy named *Neil from our ward, who was a lawyer. I didn’t care for him, so I asked Richard if we could hire someone else.
Richard was friends with Neil, so he insisted that we use him.
It ended up being a long, drawn-out process where I did most of the work.

I needed to take a bath. I couldn’t lift my arms, so Richard said he would help me wash my hair. I had to take the neck brace off so that it wouldn’t get wet.
I was sitting in the tub trying not to move my head because it was so painful. As Richard was about to wash my hair, he dropped a full bottle of shampoo on my head. It was extremely painful!
Richard couldn’t stop laughing. I asked him how he could think that was funny. He responded, “I don’t mean to laugh. It’s just you know when you are not supposed to, then it’s hard not to.” Then he laughed even harder.
I asked why he had done that. He told me that he loved me and that he would never have done something like that on purpose.
During this time, Laila helped me with everything that needed to be done around the house. I don’t know what I would have done without her.
Beth called to see how I was doing. I told her about what had happened when Richard had “helped” me wash my hair. She offered to come and help me. I told her I was okay since Laila was there for me. But since I was in so much pain, she wanted to come and help me with whatever I needed done.
A few days later, when I needed to wash my hair again, Richard was more than happy to assist me. I told him my sister was coming out. I wasn’t going to chance that he was “accidentally” going to drop the bottle on me again.
Beth lives more than an hour away and is 8 months pregnant. She was so sweet, she was happy to come help me. Even though Laila did so much for me, she came out a few more times to take care of me before she had her baby.
It took a long time before I could lift my arms. I was stuck wearing the neck brace for 4 months because every time I took it off, it felt like my head was going to fall off.
I had to do a lot of Physical Therapy before I was able to turn my head again.
