It’s been nice to have Sarah back. She has helped me so much in my yard with things that need to get done.

We invited Jared, family, Laila, Duke, Beth, and her family over for Christmas. As usual, Beth insisted that Mom and Arnie come too. I pretend everything is fine. I planned some bingo games. We ended up having a nice evening without any drama.

Johny gets to call home since it’s Christmas. Jared and family came over this morning to say hi to him as well.
It sounds like he is enjoying his mission. I can’t believe he has less than a year to go and will be home to celebrate Christmas with us next year. I sure do miss him!
Johny asked me if he should go visit my brother and x-stepmom while he is there. I told him it’s better that he doesn’t.

Sarah has lived with us for almost 10 months. I am glad that she came home and that I was able to help her get rid of the bedbugs. I am so grateful to have spent this time with her.
Sarah has found a boyfriend. He seems really nice and helped her to move to his place today.
He lives in Tooele, so I will still be able to see her often.

It’s been strange being empty nesters these past few days. Richard works a lot of overtime, so I spend my time working in the yard.
Richard never used to let me do anything in the yard. Since he works so much, he didn’t notice at first that I was redoing some of his “creative” landscaping. When he noticed, I thought he was going to get upset. To my surprise, he likes what I am doing.

I removed a lot of the rocks that he had “landscaped” in front. I put them in the back till I can slowly get rid of some of them.

I got some of the rocks and broke them with a sledgehammer, and then put them back in some of the places in front.

It was a huge job and was hard on my hands. The front and the sides of the house looked so much nicer!

It kept me busy, and I loved how it looked!

After spending all day outside, I had not noticed that Richard had come home from work. When I came into the kitchen, there was a bucket of mud standing in the middle of the floor.
When Richard came into the kitchen, I asked him why he had put that 5-gallon bucket of mud there. He looked at me very concerned. Then he said, “It’s just you and me here. I didn’t do it. I just got home! You are the only one who works in the yard.” I assured him that I didn’t put that bucket there. Then he lovingly put his arms around me and said, “I hope you are okay. I didn’t do it, so the only one who could have done it is you. That must be awful that you don’t remember. As long as you don’t burn the house down and always remember who I am, that I am your husband, it will be all right. I love you. Know that I am always here for you! Together we can do it.”
I was so confused! I was pretty sure I had not put that bucket there. It was way too heavy for me. Why would he do that and say I did it? I asked him if he was trying to be funny and play a prank on me. Again, he put his arms lovingly around me and said, “I am here for you. As long as you don’t burn the house down, and as long as you remember who I am, we will get through this.”
I was even more confused. Did I put the bucket there? Was he just trying to be funny? Surely he couldn’t have put it there and then pretended that I had done it? What was going on?
He had a motive that I didn’t know about. This was the first time of many that he had me so confused.
